How Business Investors Search Early

Business investors have flexed to new demands around data and collaboration.

In Indianapolis, the Industrial Asset Management Council (IAMC) convened corporate real estate investors.  Those discussions included how teams are sharpening their early-stage location research.  Hybrid work and supply chain modifications continue to shift location footprints, so investors have adapted by collecting data earlier, for their own bespoke basket of target markets. Teams emphasized the need for more reliable data, earlier in the process.

For economic developers, this continues to signal the push toward pro-action and clarity: cleaner data in simpler systems to produce faster answers.

And we heard one of the most inspiring keynote speeches of all time from James Lawrence, aka The Iron Cowboy. In his “Nothing is Impossible” presentation, James shared insights from his achievement of completing 50 Ironman Triathlons in 50 days across 50 U.S. states and challenged us all to consider our endurance under pressure as our industry innovates in the face of rapidly changing constraints.
